We will use glitter, sparkles, paint and pixie dust to create geode-like works of art. Watch YouTube for ideas and we will make your dream geode a reality. Paint Pouring Lab (ages 14+)
A two-part class. You must be able to attend both sessions but pay only one fee. We will make projects on hard substrates which will be sealed week II. Projects will include a four-piece coaster set which will be ready for holiday giving, and several other options. The second part of the class will be using low VOC resin and other techniques. If you have been reluctant to try new finishing techniques, you’ll be in the right place! Beginning level paint pouring experience is ideal but not required. Reverse Canvas Signs (ages 14+)
Make a fall themed sign by taking apart a canvas frame (such as those used for painting) then “re-constructing” it so that the canvas is on the inside! Once you start you won’t want to stop making them. Easy step by step instructions are given in a handout so you can make more at home. Soap Making (ages 18+)
Learn how soap becomes “soap” through the process of saponification and how to use on line calculators to custom create any soap that suits your personal preference! Participants will have hands on practice creating and following a recipe, learn important safety tips and will leave class with at least one pound of “raw” soap to take home to cure the 6-8 weeks necessary. This is a fast-paced course designed to give the basics of soapmaking. Please bring an old bath sized towel to insulate soap for the ride home.
