Absolute Beginners Pottery
Our beginners course is great for anyone who wants to dive right into clay. Experienced instructors will guide you through the process of creating pottery on and off the potter's wheel. You will also learn basic methods for finishing and glazing your pieces. Class fee includes studio time during select times when classes aren't in session and the firing of pieces made during the eight week term. Clay must be purchased through Brambleton Center at $25/25 pounds.

Beginner Obedience & Good Manners (ages 18+)
Want a dog who listens better? In this basic training course, dog parents will learn how to best communicate with their dogs in order to teach them good manners. Positive reinforcement training methods are used to teach the following behaviors: touch, look, sit, down, stand, come, settle, wait, take it, loose-leash walking, plus more. Other topics include parent separation, agility exercises, impulse control, and canine communication. Dogs must complete either Puppy Kindergarten or be at least 6 months old. Canine Good Citizen Certification Course(ages 18+)
Don't we all want our dogs to be Canine Good Citizens? Well, we can help make that happen! During this six week course, we focus on the ten skills needed by all well-mannered dogs as outlined in the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen Program. The CGC Program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community while stressing responsible pet ownership. The CGC test is administered on the last day of class, and all dogs who pass will receive a certificate from the AKC. Ceramics
Whether you are new to ceramics, decorated ceramics 40 years ago, or have recently made ceramic items, we welcome you to join this class. Intermediate Obedience (ages 18+)
Now that your dog has learned some good manners, the next step is to apply those manners to real life situations while addressing common behavior problems like jumping on guests, door-dashing, pulling on the leash, not coming when called, etc. Behaviors taught include stay, place, leave it, heel, touch tag, and more. Paint Pouring Lab (ages 14+)
A two-part class. You must be able to attend both sessions but pay only one fee. We will make projects on hard substrates which will be sealed week II. Projects will include a four-piece coaster set which will be ready for holiday giving, and several other options. The second part of the class will be using low VOC resin and other techniques. If you have been reluctant to try new finishing techniques, you’ll be in the right place! Beginning level paint pouring experience is ideal but not required. Painting With Ed Gowen
Have you always wanted to paint but think you aren't equipped with the talent? Take a class with Ed Gowen and amaze yourself, your family and your friends with your masterpiece! Pottery Courses
The Brambleton Center offers a well equipped studio to create original works of clay in both wheel and freeform. Equipment includes 13 electric wheels, a slab roller, and an assortment of tools and accessories for shaping and sculpting the clay. A variety of glazes are mixed in the studio offering about 23 colors. Class fee also includes utilizing the studio on your own during select times when classes aren't in session and the firing of pieces made during the 10 week term. Clay must be purchased through Brambleton Center at $25/25 pounds. Saturday will be an open workshop opportunity for those currently registered in a Pottery class. Puppy Kindergarten(ages 18+)
The single most important (and fun) thing you can do for your puppy? Puppy Kindergarten!! For puppies between 10-24 weeks old, socialization with other puppies and people is crucial in order to help them become social, well-balanced dogs. While making lots of friends during off-leash playtime, your puppy will gain confidence by participating in activities and learning basic commands. Therapy Dog Course (ages 18+)
Would you like to give back to your community by volunteering with your dog? Therapy Dogs are used in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehab and long-term care facilities, schools, libraries, Veteran care programs, and many other facilities. During this six week course, we practice advanced behaviors necessary for you and your dog to interact in the community with different types of people in different environments. Your dog must have his or her Canine Good Citizen title to participate.
