Our beginners course is great for anyone who wants to dive right into clay. Experienced instructors will guide you through the process of creating pottery on and off the potter's wheel. You will also learn basic methods for finishing and glazing your pieces. Class fee includes studio time during select times when classes aren't in session and the firing of pieces made during the eight week term. Clay must be purchased through Brambleton Center at $25/25 pounds.

Acrylics
Working in acrylics allows for maximum flexibility in color, ideas and techniques. This medium can be used like watercolor or oils. Acrylic paint drys quickly and when dry is permanent. Learn techniques through demonstration and classroom practice using glazes, knife work, texture, composition tips as well as many other methods. Beginner Obedience & Good Manners (ages 18+)
Want a dog who listens better? In this basic training course, dog parents will learn how to best communicate with their dogs in order to teach them good manners. Positive reinforcement training methods are used to teach the following behaviors: touch, look, sit, down, stand, come, settle, wait, take it, loose-leash walking, plus more. Other topics include parent separation, agility exercises, impulse control, and canine communication. Dogs must complete either Puppy Kindergarten or be at least 6 months old. Pottery Courses
The Brambleton Center offers a well equipped studio to create original works of clay in both wheel and freeform. Equipment includes 13 electric wheels, a slab roller, and an assortment of tools and accessories for shaping and sculpting the clay. A variety of glazes are mixed in the studio offering about 23 colors. Class fee also includes utilizing the studio on your own during select times when classes aren't in session and the firing of pieces made during the 10 week term. Clay must be purchased through Brambleton Center at $25/25 pounds. Saturday will be an open workshop opportunity for those currently registered in a Pottery class. Marblelized Paper and Mono-Printmaking
Week one students will have fun using oil paint mixed with paint thinner to create interesting patterns on paper. Resulting pieces can be used for notecards, book binding, origami or any creative endeavor you imagine. Printmaking will be the focus of the final five weeks. Monoprint is a combination of painting and printmaking using plexiglass and oil paints. New techniques will be offered each week. Week two-plant materials (leaves flower pedals, etc.), stencils and a press, week three-paint, paint thinner, brushes, q-tips, and rolling pins for pressure, week four-painting scene on plexiglass plate-paper and rolling pins, week five combination of week 2 to 4 and week six double painting. How to Restore Old Photos with Photoshop (14+)
This class will cover how to restore color and contrast to old photos, correct color shifts, clone tool and content aware to correct cracks and imperfections and how to increase resolution. This class includes 5 high resolution scans of your photographs. You can call to have them done in time to work in on class or bring them to class to have them scanned after class at my studio. Handcoloring Landscapes (Oil Painting on Photos)
Come and learn this antique art form to transform your photographs into yesteryear looking treasures. This class will provide sepia toned prints for you to paint with information on how to make you own prints to paint. Use of paint and supplies is included. Just bring yourself dressed in old clothes or short sleeves and an apron. A handout will be provided so you can review the information later.
